Mike Tyson hits back at 'haters' criticising Jake Paul fight

Mike Tyson has dismissed "jealous" critics of his fight with Jake Paul.

The legendary heavyweight is returning to the ring at the age of 58 against the YouTuber – who is 31 years younger than him – but has fired back at the "haters" who claim that he is too old to be fighting.

Tyson told Jake's brother Logan Paul on the 'Impaulsive' podcast: "If you think I'm too old for this fight, you need to come tell me to my face.

"This is all about jealousy. They wish they could do it. They can't. They can't do it, they're out there making up crazy b******* but they wish so bad they were in our position. They wish so bad they could take care of their families the way we can.

"The way people yell our names. They're world champions. No one knows their names. The s*** talkers get all the money, the s*** talkers get all the attention, the s*** talkers get everything. We get a bad rap, but we also get everything else."

'Iron Mike' was a feared fighter in his prime but explained that he feels "nervous" ahead of the November bout against Paul and is refusing to underestimate his rival.

The former world champion said: "All fighters are nervous, all athletes are nervous. I'm not going to let anyone tell me because I'm nervous I'm afraid, because I've been nervous my whole career and I've been very successful."

Tyson continued: "The difference between me and all the other guys that he fought – they weren't apprehensive or afraid of him.

"I'm just that kind of person, that's who I am (with) my nerves. Because I don't want to get angry or anything, that's why I'm scared."
