Daniel Dubois determined to make Anthony Joshua quit in heavyweight title clash

Daniel Dubois has vowed to make Anthony Joshua quit in their heavyweight title fight.

The British fighter will aim to defend his IBF title belt against his countryman at Wembley Stadium on Saturday (21.09.24) and is determined to make his rival quit during the contest.

Dubois told Sky Sports: "I've got to make him quit, break him down, That's my mindset going into this. Making him quit, breaking him.

"I believe I can."

Dubois was accused of quitting when he suffered his first career loss against Joe Joyce in 2020 and he is now desperate to do the same to Joshua to silence any criticisms about his character.

The fighter said: "I'm turning it round now at this stage of my career. I've come through my ups and downs, just turning it round.

"Enjoy the moment, let all the talking be done, let all the statements be made. I'm in a good place right now and I'm ready to fight."

Dubois is the underdog for the bout despite his status as world champion but is more than happy with observers underestimating him.

He said: "I still have that mindset, I'm still like that. Everyone wants to see the underdog come through and come out on top.

"I'm the underdog and I love playing that role, make it another night to remember."

Dubois warned that Joshua is going to experience the "shock of his life" when he steps into the ring this weekend.

Asked whether the former world champion's camp are underestimating his challenge, he said: "Of course they are, he's going to be in for the shock of his life."
