The Dutch coach has made a seamless start to life at Anfield since replacing Jurgen Klopp in the summer but thinks that the ability of the squad has allowed him to win so many games.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Slot said: "That has a lot to do with having the quality players we have.
"There’s no manager in the world that can be successful without having quality players, unless you’re facing teams that don’t have quality players; in the Premier League everybody has, you need to have a quality squad."
Slot also thanked Klopp for singing his name at his Anfield farewell last season and believes that it has helped him win the admiration of supporters.
He said: "I think it helped me as well the way Jurgen said farewell. He immediately set me off to a good start with what he did for me in the stadium.
"And then the most important thing is winning games, because no matter how you look, or no matter how nice you are, if you are nice or if you are good-looking – which is a question mark for me!
"But, then it all depends on your results. If you don’t win, it’s very hard to be popular with the fans, so that’s why the triangle [of fans, players and manager] is really good at the moment.
"We’ve experienced this at Anfield against [Manchester] City and [Real] Madrid especially."
Slot was handed the challenging task of succeeding Klopp - who had been hugely successful during a nine-year stint in the Anfield dugout - but said at the time that he saw the opportunity as a blessing.
He said: "You can look at it both ways. They are big shoes to fill but you are also inheriting a squad and a team which has a winning culture.
"As a manager you want to work at a club with good players and an opportunity to win something. The past has shown there is a possibility to win some trophies. I look at it as ideal."
