Mohamed Salah hopeful that Liverpool can win Premier League title

Mohamed Salah say Liverpool's Premier League title bid "feels different" this season.

The Reds opened up a seven point lead at the top of the table after beating Leicester 3-1 on Boxing Day (26.12.24) and the Egyptian forward is hopeful that the club can be champions once again after near-misses in recent campaigns.

Salah told Amazon Prime: "The most important thing is the team winning - hopefully we win the Premier League. It is great, but we focus on each game and hopefully we carry on like that.

"[This year] it feels different, but the most important thing is we need to stay humble. This one is very special, hopefully we win the Premier League and for this club, it is something I dream of."

Salah scored his 16th Premier League goal of the season during Liverpool's win and manager Arne Slot praised his team's attacking players for always posing a threat.

He said: "Great goal again.

"Mo had a similar shot that hit the bar and he had another one with his right that just went over the bar. We arrived there many times and if these players - like Cody (Gakpo), like Lucho [Luis Diaz], like Diogo [Jota], like Darwin [Nunez], like Mo - if they arrive often enough in promising positions, they will deliver."

Slot is well-placed to win the title in his first season at Anfield but pointed out that Manchester City's collapse in form should serve as a warning to his team.

The coach said: "Twenty games before the end you don't look at it [the table]. You know so many challenges are still ahead of you.

"Two months ago, we were one point behind City and look what has happened there. In terms of injuries and then you have a bit of bad luck or a suspension. This can happen to any team, so it's far too early to already be celebrating."
