Darts player Nathan Aspinall reveals why he is 'not necessarily happy' with recent victory

Nathan Aspinall is "not necessarily happy" with his recent darts victory.

The 33-year-old star beat Andrew Gilding 4-0 in the World Darts Championship in London on Saturday (28.12.24) and while he was pleased to have won, he isn't entirely satisfied with his "overall performance" just yet.

He told TalkSport: "For some reason my scoring is not there but the finishing is not there.

“But Andrew is a tough opponent and to beat him in 4-0 I was very happy in the end.

“I think I’m happy where my head is at but I’m not necessarily happy with my overall performance yet.”

The darts player will next come up against Ricardo Pietreczko, who recently admitted that he would be "very excited" to get the chance to go head-to-head with Nathan in a game following his win against Scott Williams

He said: "Yeah it's really cool support from both sides.

"I really hope it is the same in the next round too.

"Scott was a very difficult player, and his games on stage made it very difficult for me.

"But doubling was good for me and I'm happy. I would be excited to play Nathan, he is a really great player and I know what he is capable of!"
