Ludwig Aberg is desperate to play at the Ryder Cup again

Ludwig Aberg has admitted getting into Europe’s Ryder Cup team is “very, very high” on his priorities list.

The 27-year-old golfer – who is recovering after undergoing surgery in September – previously made his debut in the competition just three months after turning professional in 2023 and he’s hopeful he can be part of it again this year.

He told Golf Monthly magazine: “They say once you’ve been on a team you don’t ever want to miss it, and that’s very true…

“I’m still looking back at Rome as one of the best weeks I’ve had in my golfing career.

“It was such a cool experience. You’re representing so much more than just yourself."

Ludwig loves the feeling of “unity” between players in the competition.

He continued: “It’s such a special tournament and it’s so different from what we normally do.

“There’s a unity that comes with representing Europe.

“It feels like we’re all together and we’re all playing for the same thing, whereas in a golf tournament, there are 150 guys who are trying to beat you.

“Here, there are 12 guys who are trying to help you. It creates a cool dynamic.”

The Swede hopes he has a long career ahead of him.

He said: “I’ve had a great start to my career.

“I’m in it for the long run. Hopefully I’ll be able to play this game for 20-plus years.

“I’ve loved it. It’s been great to be able to do all these things that I’ve wanted to do for a long time, from when I was growing up to when I was in college and dreaming about playing the PGA Tour and playing all the Majors. It’s pretty cool to be see myself be able to live that.”
