The Gypsy King announced earlier this month that he was hanging up his gloves but McKenzie has urged him to stay involved in a promotional capacity if he isn't tempted back into the ring for a lucrative bout against Anthony Joshua.
The former three-weight world champion told talkSPORT.com: "He's said the same thing several times, and then something comes in his mind a few months on when he gets bored.
It says, 'I have to do the only thing I can do', and that is boxing. And I don't see him as a TV analyst.
"I don't think he has the mentality for that. I think his forte would be staying in the sport, but maybe as a promoter or a manager.
"I think he'd be great at that if he chooses not to come back, he will always be involved in boxing.

"But I just think he still has another fight in him."
McKenzie believes that Fury will be unable to resist the payday that will come from a fight against Joshua and thinks that the former world champion would be foolish not to compete in the long-awaited fight.
He said: "Yeah whatever they offer him whether it is £100 million or £200 million, take it.
"I still believe he will come out of retirement, make no mistake about that."
