The Portuguese icon - who celebrates his 40th birthday on Wednesday (05.02.25) - has no intention of ending his playing career just yet but explained that he sees himself controlling a stable of clubs when he does hang up his boots.
Ronaldo told the Portuguese TV station 'Canal 11': "It doesn't make a lot of sense to be director of a club. If I can be a club owner, why would I be a manager, sporting director or CEO?
"That is a dream of mine and I am sure I'll be a club owner. And I'll tell you more. I hope to have not just one club, but several clubs."
The Al-Nassr player would follow in the footsteps of other football greats such as David Beckham (Inter Miami) and his Brazilian namesake Ronaldo (Real Valladolid) if he did move into club ownership.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo questioned the credibility of the Ballon d'Or award after Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr. was controversially beaten to the prize by Manchester City midfielder Rodri last year.
He told 'El Chiringuito': "I was surprised. I believe he should have won the Ballon d’Or. He won the Champions League and made a difference. I was upset for Vinicius. He deserved the award, but I’m not surprised… not only because I didn’t win it or not, but because it lacks credibility."
The former Real Madrid player continued: "I have felt it many times and I felt angry. With time, I understood it. These are battles that you cannot win. I felt that emotion twice. It makes you feel helpless. But then I realised… You shouldn’t get involved in battles you can’t win."
