Daniel Dubois eyes undisputed heavyweight crown

Daniel Dubois is desperate to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

The British fighter defends his IBF world title against Joseph Parker on Saturday (22.02.25) and has revealed his ambition to dethrone Oleksandr Usyk should he prevail against the Kiwi.

Dubois told Sky Sports: "I always wanted to get my hands on them belts and take the weight off Usyk's hands. Let's get them belts.

"Boxing at the moment is buzzing right now. It's good I'm in a good position with the belt. I want to keep it going, keep this train moving."

Dubois is looking to put in a good performance against former world champion Parker in Saudi Arabia so he can put himself in prime position for another shot at Usyk - who he lost to in 2023.

The boxer said: "It starts on Saturday. That's the big one that sets up everything else.

"I want to give Parker a lot of problems first and then that will just prepare me even more. All these fights will just prepare me for the next one, that's how I look at it.

"How good can I perform? How quickly can I do the job? How clinical can I look? These are questions I ask myself. I want to get the best out of myself. So you need to fight whoever they put in front of you."

Some have suggested that Dubois is overlooking the challenge posed by Parker but the Brit's trainer Don Charles says that is far from the case.

He said: "It's almost like he's got blinkers on like a racehorse. He's a very, very unique individual.

"Mr. Parker and his trainer, they've grabbed on to this thing of, 'Oh you're overlooking us'. No, we're looking at you and through you. We're going to run through you. Daniel's going to run through you.

"They're going to try and they're going to fail miserably.

"Emphatic win, emphatic victory. Daniel Dubois, the IBF world champion, will retain his belt."
