Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn face off cancelled

Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn's planned face-off has been cancelled.

The two boxing stars are set to meet in a grudge fight at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 26, and there were plans for them to come together at the football ground on Wednesday (26.02.25).

The face-off has been scrapped amid security concerns after yesterday's press conference in Manchester ended with Eubank Jr slapping an egg into his rival's face.

Instead, Sky Sports News has confirmed that there will be a follow-up press conference at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (27.02.25) with extra security in an attempt to keep the boxers apart.

During the event at Manchester Central, both men delivered foul-mouthed insults to each other as tensions simmered.

When it came time for the customary face-off, they exchanged more words, and Eubank Jr pulled an egg from his pocket, and slapped Benn on the cheek.

Benn reacted angrily, with security guards having to hold them both back.

Taking to social media, Eubank has now said: "Apparently egg contamination was the reason for his two failed drugs tests. So I contaminated him with an egg."

The egg was a reference to their 2022 fight being called off after Benn failed a voluntary drug test, which sparked a lengthy battle with anti-doping authorities.

Benn - whose suspension was lifted in November - has always denied intentionally doping, while the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association is testing both men before the fight.

In an interdependent report by the WBC two years ago, it was said his failed test was unintentional, and perhaps due to a "highly elevated consumption" of eggs.
