The Liverpool women’s team play the majority of their home games at the Totally Wicked Stadium – which is home to rugby side St. Helens – but stage selected matches at the prestigious Liverpool men’s ground and the 20-year-old defender admitted stepping out onto the pitch is a dream come true.
She told Match magazine: “It’s really exciting. We are grateful to be able to play there.
“I’ve been a ball girl there as a little kid, a few of us from the academy got to be ball girls when Liverpool Women played Everton.
“I just remember Anfield being so loud, it was a dream come true, so to step foot on the pitch is really exciting.”
Lucy is very proud to play for Liverpool.
She said: “I’ve been at this club for a long time.
“I joined when I was seven in the under-9s and worked my way up through the age groups.
“It’s a great club a team that I support, and to be able to play and train with them every day is exciting.”
The former England under 19s captain believes her club are on the right track to “something good”.
She said: “Every year you can push on and improve so we have set our targets high, and we know that expectations are high.
“We are building something really good.
“We know this is the toughest league and it won’t be easy, we just want to keep improving.”
