Steve Clarke admits Kieran Tierney's Scotland return gives him 'a lot to thing about'

Steve Clarke has "a lot to think about" after Kieran Tierney's return from injury.

The Arsenal defender hasn't played for Scotland since the Euros last summer, with Clarke changing from a back five to a four, but now he's fit and ready to go.

The manager told media this week: "As a coach, you want as many difficult choices as possible. I've got a few of them.

"It gives us another option. We've discussed it. Hopefully, we can come up with the right solution for the game."

The 27-year-old has made just two starts in 11 appearances for the Gunners since late December, but was an integral part of Clarke's Scotland side before the injury nine months ago.

In his absence, Scotland managed to finish third in their group, avoiding automatic relegation in the Nations League.

They'll face Greece in a play-off on Thursday (20.03.25), and Clarke has a big decision to make.

He explained: "The team has been good with a back four. Obviously, we changed the whole way we approached the game in the Nations League.

"The group stages, we went four. It worked. It worked well because we also had the little outlet on the right-hand side with the pace of Ben Doak and we didn't have the option of putting Kieran into the team.

"So, yeah, it's given me a lot to think about."
