Oleksandr Usyk could take Daniel Dubois fight before Joseph Parker clash

Oleksandr Usyk could face Daniel Dubois before his mandatory Joseph Parker fight.

The Ukrainian unified heavyweight champion has been ordered to defend the WGO heavyweight title against Interim champ Parker, but that could wait until after a proposed undisputed clash with IBF champ Dubois.

WBO president Gustavo Olivieri told Sky Sports: "The WBO ordered the enforcement of its mandatory in the heavyweight division, Usyk-Parker, to be discharged accordingly.

"Not withstanding the foregoing, if a petition is lodged with the WBO requesting that the mandatory be 'stayed' until the unification takes place, that is a decision to be rendered by the Championship Committee.

"Per the discretion conferred to the Committee by our governing regulations, such request may be granted."

Uysk - who beat Tyson Fury to unify all four major heavyweight world titles in May 2024 - went onto beat the Gypsy King in a rematch in December.

That meant he missed a mandatory defence of the IBF championship, which Dubois won via knockout against Anthony Joshua.

Dubois was then forced to miss his fight with Parker last month, although the latter fought and beat Martin Bakole, remaining WBO's interim champ.

However, Dubois could instead fight Usyk before Parker, and his trainer Don Charles supports the idea.

He told Sky Sports: "When you're holding one of the titles, he's got the IBF heavyweight belt, so you have to be able to take on all comers and that's where we're at.

"He's a champion, a world champion, Daniel Dubois. We're in the business of fighting. So long as it makes sense, then yeah."
