Oleksandr Usyk promoter reveals 'priority' between Daniel Debois and Joseph Parker fights

Oleksandr Usyk promoter reveals 'priority' between Daniel Debois and Joseph Parker fights

Oleksandr Usyk's "priority" is an undisputed world heavyweight championship fight with Daniel Debois.

The 38-year-old boxer - who had to vacate the IBF heavyweight title to secure a rematch with Tyson Fury late last year - is still unbeaten with the WBO, WBC and WBA world heavyweight belts, while Dubois holds the IBF gold.

Although he has been ordered to make a mandatory WBO title defence against Joseph Parker, his promoter Alex Krassyuk has made Usyk's stance clear.

He told Sky Sports: "If undisputed makes itself possible - it will be the priority."

Asked if Uysk will face Parker or Dubois as his next fight, he added: "We will come to know it within the next couple of days."

Uysk - who beat Tyson Fury to unify all four major heavyweight world titles in May 2024 - went onto beat the Gypsy King in a rematch in December.

That meant he missed a mandatory defence of the IBF championship, which Dubois won via knockout against Anthony Joshua.

Dubois was then forced to miss his fight with Parker last month, although the latter fought and beat Martin Bakole, remaining WBO's interim champ.

Dubois could instead fight Usyk before Parker, and his trainer Don Charles has backed the idea.

He told Sky Sports: "When you're holding one of the titles, he's got the IBF heavyweight belt, so you have to be able to take on all comers and that's where we're at.

"He's a champion, a world champion, Daniel Dubois. We're in the business of fighting. So long as it makes sense, then yeah."
