Tyson Fury's manager expects the fighter to stay retired despite boredom

Tyson Fury's manager Spencer Brown expects the fighter to stay retired from boxing, even though he is feeling bored.

The Gypsy King surprised the sport by calling time on his career earlier this year and his manager doesn't expect the former world champion to make a return to the ring despite the challenges he faces acclimatising to life away from gyms and bouts.

Fury told iFL TV: "I spoke to him last week, he's really happy. Really happy.

"He's getting a little bit bored but he was really happy. I think he went to a nice birthday party over the weekend and had a few beers.

"Just speaking to him gives you a bit of light in your life because he makes you smile and he doesn't take anything too seriously.

"Is he going to fight again? He's retired. He might be getting a little bit bored at the moment but that's just a natural thing.

"He's just enjoying himself, he's running everyday. He's really looking good.

"He's tanned, he's fit. He looks good. I was quite surprised when I saw him.

"He's usually eating Jelly Babies and sweets but this time none of that. He's proper on his diet."

Fury's promoter Bob Arum recently stated that the Brit owes it "to himself and his family" to stay retired from the sport.

Arum told Sky Sports: "I think Tyson Fury owes it to himself and his family to remain happily retired.

"Not from life, because I believe he has a lot in front of him. He is a good communicator and is an entertainer, but I don't think he should step in the ring again because I think he's had enough.

"Fortunately, in the last few years of his career he earned so much money his family or himself is never going to want for money. I would advise him not to ever go back in the ring, but to make himself useful as a spokesperson because he can communicate extraordinarily well.

"People are intrigued by him and I think he can do a lot of good."
