Samsung has had "further advancements" with its Wallet feature.

The tech giant launched their digital wallet platform in June 202 and following the Samsung Developer Conference 2024 (SDC24), it was revealed that more features have been integrated into the app that allows users to make card payments.

In a blog post, Samsung said: "Samsung Wallet saw further advancements through collaborations with various partners, including smart key companies. For instance, the door lock functionality of SmartThings has been integrated into Samsung Wallet as a digital home key for improved convenience and usability. From mobile payment to storing digital IDs and event tickets, most of Samsung Wallet’s existing features were developed and launched in close collaboration with partner companies."

Towards the end of last year, Samsung teamed up with leading payment service Mastercard so that users could incorporate the system onto their Galaxy device.

At the time,Teg Dosanjh, Vice President, Samsung Electronics Europe, commented: “We are excited to be joining Mastercard´s Wallet Express to give consumers more flexibility to make payments almost anywhere they need to. Millions of people already choose Samsung Wallet, and this partnership will give more people the opportunity to use the safe and secure Samsung Pay service on their Galaxy device”.
