Smart Energy GB have found 62 per cent of Brits say they would struggle to maintain their daily routines without life admin apps, including banking and personal bills apps.

And 65 per cent of those using energy management apps believe these tools have helped them save money on their energy bills.

Consumer Finance expert Steph McGovern has teamed up with the company to offer some top tips to track spending, manage subscriptions, and take advantage of energy reward schemes.

She said: "Apps have turned mobile phones into pocket personal assistants which have become indispensable tools for managing our lives.

"They really help keep you on top of life admin, especially finances, when it comes to energy usage and bills.

"And, remember to keep an eye out for the energy reward schemes that may be available to you, if you do have a smart meter installed."

Steph has shared several top tips to reap the lifestyle and financial benefits of handy smartphone apps, including spreadsheet your life, monitor your energy use, and track unused subscriptions.

According to the findings, the top 10 life admin apps Brits are using to stay in control include banking, reward apps, personal bills, managing energy bills, calendar apps, travel booking, grocery shopping, broadband and other household bills, setting timers, productivity, and smart meter tracking.

What's more, households with smart meters report saving an average of £140 per year by using these apps to manage their energy consumption.
