Trick-or-treaters screened by 60% of Brits using smart video devices over fears for safety

A new survey has found that more than half of Brits screen trick-or-treaters before answering the door.

Research from Yale has revealed how people utilise their smart home technology to feel safe during the spooky season of Halloween, and the company has developed an app so that can check from any of their devices.

Karl Woolley, Head of Product Management at Yale said: “It’s understandable that we want to make sure our home is safe, whether we are at there or not. Yale’s Smart Security Ecosystem has a Smart Alarms, Video Doorbell and Indoor Outdoor security cameras that all work together to help consumers feel safer at home. The Yale App gives immediate access to view your camera feeds so you can see who is at your door or what is happening at home.”

According to the survey, over a third (36%) said that the increased number of visitors during the spooky season raises their concerns around home security. To combat this, nearly two-thirds (60%) use a front door camera, such as the Yale Smart Video Doorbell or Smart Outdoor Camera to screen trick-or-treaters before answering the door
