The U.S House of Representatives will be voting on a defense bill that includes spending $3 billion - of which funding is coming from the National Defense Authorisation Act’s budget for 2025 - to help telecom firms get rid of and replace Chinese-manufactured equipment.
Removing the gear comes as the country wants to crack down on Chinese technology firms amid national security concerns.
It comes after a 2019 mandate by the U.S Congress to remove the equipment from the country's networks.
Huawei has been the subject of U.S export restrictions since 2019.
As well as the United States, the UK announced in 2022 that all Huawei technology needs to be taken down from the country's public 5G networks by 2027.
