Amazon declares 'most successful holiday season' ever

Amazon had its "most successful holiday shopping season" ever in 2024.

The tech giant reported sales of $75.6bn over the Christmas period and CEO Andy Jassy just feels "grateful" for those who worked for company throughyt the period.

Amazon’s chief executive, Andy Jassy, said: “This was our most successful holiday shopping season just yet, and we’re grateful for the customers, selling partners, and employees who made it possible”.

It is thought that the company could make a "strong investment" with other tech giants across the course of the coming year.

Matt Britzman, senior equity researcher at Hargreaves Lansdown, said: "A strong investment forecast for 2025 would be a boon for the whole AI trade, especially since Meta, Alphabet, and Microsoft are doubling down on AI investment."

Amazon had previously operated a flexible scheme for some workers since the COVID-19 pandemic and had been trying to implement a return to office scheme for all employees but despite pushback, the mandate has now been put in place
