The Florida-based theme park is open 365 days a year but following the Christmas season, the attraction will operate at slightly different opening times.
According to WDWMagic, closing time at Magic Kingdom has extended from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm from January 5 for that day only and will then be shutting at 10:00pm for the rest of the week before reverting to an 11:00pm finish for the rest of the month.
As of January 8, evening hours will be extended from 10:00 pm – 12:00 am as opposed to the usual two-hour slot from 9:00pm.
The news comes shortly after it was revealed that a Tomorrowland attraction will close in the new year.
Like many theme parks around the world, the Orlando site occasionally has to temporarily shut down rides for refurbishment, and now its the Astro Orbiter's turn.
In a note on the park's official website, they said: "Astro Orbiter will be temporarily closed for refurbishment beginning January 13, 2025, and is planned to reopen in the summer of 2025."
Disney World hasn't given a firm date for its reopening, while it's not clear if there are any significant changes planned or if it's simply a routine update.
The aerial carousel-type attraction launched at Magic Kingdom in 1974 as the Star Jets, which were considered the focal point of the Tomorrowland area.
In January 1994, the original ride shut down as part of a major makeover, reopening three months later as the Astro Orbiter as part of a complete overhaul to Tomorrowland.
