Matt Willis thought his kids were 'going to kill' him when he went on a Disney Cruise without them

Matt Willis thought his kids were "going to kill" him when he went on a Disney Cruise without them.

The 41-year-old pop star is married to former 'Big Brother' host Emma Willis and has Isabelle, 15, Ace, 13, as well as eight-year-old Trixie with her and when the chance came up to go on the media corporation's Disney Fantasy cruise line operation, he regretted not being able to take them but then relished in being able to spend a week alone with his wife.

He said: "My first reaction was, ‘my kids are going to kill me’. They've been talking about it for such a long time. This opportunity came through, so we couldn’t take them.

"So my initial reaction of ‘the kids are going to kill me’, then turned into ‘Oh my god, we’re going to have five days away on a ship with no kids, on our own. Amazing! When we told them they were so jealous."

"I've never, ever been on a cruise ship. Years ago, I was doing a cabaret show in the West End called West End Men, and they wanted to take that on cruise ships, and I was like, no, that’s not for me. I’ve never really considered it, so I was brand new to the cruise experience. But I didn’t have any problem being on the sea. The Disney Fantasy is so big, you actually completely forget you're at sea."

The Disney Fantasy line is coming to the UK for the very first time across the summer, and the Busted star admitted that he would recommend the experience to anyone simply because of everything it has to offer.

He said: "Absolutely! It's unlike anything I've ever done before. I’ve been very lucky and I’ve travelled quite a lot, but I’ve never really seen anywhere. I’ve been in a band. So I’ve seen hotels, venues, planes, airports and tour buses - that’s all I get to see and it can end up feeling really samey. So to get to explore somewhere new, and really get a sense of where you are because you travel there, it’s a real experience. Then there’s the ship, which is second to none. I’ve never been on anything like it. It’s stunningly beautiful, and whatever you could need and whatever you could think of, it’s there. It’s all catered for - if we’d had the kids with us, they would have been fully engrossed in everything going on, because there’s something for them to do at all times. And for the adults, we had something to fill our days 24/7. It’s remarkable."
